Why are People Turning to CBD for Relief During the Coronavirus Outbreak?

In case you don’t already know, coronaviruses are a large group of viruses that cause symptoms ranging from the common cold to more severe respiratory disorders. Coronaviruses are zoonotic, meaning they are transmitted between animals and people. Although other coronaviruses exist and are known to humans, the Novel Coronavirus AKA CoVid-19 is a new corona virus that humans are just now being infected by and learning about. There is no cure or vaccination, although this is affecting humans worldwide.

The World Health Association notes that "common signs of infection include respiratory symptoms, fever, cough, shortness of breath and breathing difficulties. In more severe cases, infection can cause pneumonia, severe acute respiratory syndrome, kidney failure and even death." CBD may not be a cure for the coronavirus in humans, but it has numerous vital health properties that address symptoms felt by those who contract the illness, experts say. Those previously mentioned properties include anti-viral, anti-inflammatory and anti-bacterial properties. CBD is also known to reduce stress and anxiety. All of these properties are helpful in fighting the disease. Although CBD is not a cure for the Coronavirus, many consumers are finding that it helps ease symptoms.

On top of easing symptoms and making recovery a little more bearable, research is showing that people are buying CBD to help with their preparation for the Coronavirus; such as self quarantine. CBD has been linked to helping with anxiety, PTSD and depression. People with these disorders are being asked to shelter themselves in their homes for up to two weeks. To some this is no big deal, but to people with these disorders, it can be traumatic. Patients who use CBD have received some relief during this unforeseen epidemic. This is mainly due to the fact that CBD is a stimulator for receptors that regulate serotonin (the happy molecule). This allows CBD to act as a mood booster and helping with certain symptoms, like anxiety, that a user may experience while under self quarantine for the Coronavirus. Dispensaries all across the country are seeing a massive spike in sales and traffic during this very confusing and stressful time.

Experts say CBD may play a large role in treating coronavirus in dogs.

The canine coronavirus is an infection of the intestines. The canine corona can be transmitted by exposure to the feces of an infected dog. CBD can help fight canine coronavirus, due to its anti-inflammatory and antiemetic properties. CBD oil also has antiviral properties making it a potent cannabinoid to fight the virus. CBD can also ease nausea in dogs suffering from canine coronavirus. CBD helps aid pain, is antiviral, helps ease nausea and strengthens the immune systems of dogs.

It is a very nerve-racking time for the entire world. Many people are turning to CBD to help make this time less stressful. The anti-inflammatory and anti-anxiety properties are a big reason CBD companies are seeing an increase in sales. CBD has known anti-inflammatory properties that help eliminate harmful autoimmune and inflammatory responses from your body. One researcher describes CBD as a thermostat to the immune system, turning the level of activity up or down based on the bodies demand. During a panic, many people look to find anything at all that can help. CBD will not cure or prevent you from getting the Coronavirus, but many people will tell you that it is making their situation easier to deal with.
